Product Details
Wake 6560 Evolution II is Princeton CarbonWorks' fastest mass-start road wheelset — engineered from the tyre outward, around the 28 mm tyres modern riders actually use. A 60–65 mm sinusoidal carbon profile, fully hooked 22 mm internal width, 420 g rim, pre-balanced for vibration-free high speed, and proven at the highest level: used to win the Men's Ironman and Men's 70.3 World Championships in 2024.
Who it's for
Racers, triathletes, fast group-ride riders, and committed roadies who run 28 mm tyres and want the most aerodynamically efficient mass-start-compliant road wheelset Princeton has ever built. If you noticed Evo I felt great but wanted lighter and faster, this is it.
Why riders choose them
- Engineered around a 28 mm tyre, not a 25 mm one. Most "aero" wheels were optimised for 25 mm rubber and stall the moment you fit modern 28s. Evo II's 22 mm internal hooked rim was developed by 3D-scanning real 23–32 mm tyres on hooked rim widths, then validated in CFD and the wind tunnel — so the actual aero shape you ride is the one Princeton optimised.
- Faster across every real-world wind angle. Most "faster" claims come from one wind-tunnel chart. Evo II reduces drag versus Evo I across every tested yaw angle with a 28 mm GP5000 — saving ~3–104 gf with the biggest gains around ±17.5° (the angles you actually see on the road).
- 420 g rim, down from 470 g, still exceeds 120 J impact. Lighter rims usually mean weaker rims. Evo II drops 50 g per rim while still passing impact tests well above 120 J — so you climb faster and still trust the wheel through a Belgian cobble sector.
- Non-drilled tyre bed. Tubeless tape rolls, leaks, and traps sealant. Evo II's non-drilled rim bed means no tape required — tubeless setup is faster, cleaner, and stays sealed for the life of the wheel.
- Pre-balanced rims. Most carbon wheels vibrate at high cadence and high speed because the rim is slightly unbalanced. Evo II rims are individually pre-balanced — the wheel runs visibly smoother at 50+ km/h and you stop noticing the rim under your hands.
- Alpina Hyperlite Aero spokes, hand-built in USA. Standard bladed spokes loosen on rough roads. Hyperlite Aero bladed spokes in a 24/24 lacing, hand-tensioned by Princeton's builders, mean the wheel arrives true and stays true through full racing seasons.
- Race-proven at the top. Marketing claims and World Championship results are different things. Evo II was used to win both the Men's Ironman and Men's 70.3 World Championships in 2024 — proof at the highest level there is.

Compatibility & intended use
Designed for modern disc-brake road and TT/tri bikes running 28 mm tyres. Ideal for road racing, triathlon, fast group rides, and committed cyclists who want measurable aero gains without the crosswind penalty of an 80 mm wheel.
- Aero focus: 5/5 — Princeton's most aero-efficient mass-start wheelset
- Climbing focus: 4/5 — lighter than Evo I, lighter than most 60 mm rivals
- Stability in crosswinds: 5/5 — sinusoidal profile + hooked rim shape
- Stiffness under power: 5/5 — hand-built, individually tensioned
