The Dual 5550 Evolution is Princeton CarbonWorks' all-road wheelset for riders who refuse to own two bikes — and refuse to give up speed on either surface. Born for Paris–Roubaix 2021 and refined ever since, the 55 mm front / 50 mm rear wavy carbon rim is engineered around 30–32 mm tyres, so it stays aero on smooth tarmac, planted on broken pavement, and confident the moment the road turns to gravel.

Why riders choose them

• Sinusoidal wavy rim profile. Traditional deep rims get pushed around in crosswinds and feel nervous on descents. The Dual's varying rim depth disrupts crosswind loads before they reach the steering axis — so you hold a line through gusty exposed sections and trust the bike at 70 km/h.
• Built around 30–32 mm tyres. Most aero wheels were optimised for 25 mm rubber and stall the moment you fit a real all-road tyre. The Dual 5550's 24 mm internal width and aero shape are calculated for wider rubber, so you keep the aero advantage and gain real comfort and grip.
• 55 mm front / 50 mm rear depth split. Symmetric deep wheels punish the front end on long climbs and choppy roads. The shallower rear keeps acceleration snappy on rolling terrain; the deeper front holds speed on flats — a balance that suits real riding, not just wind-tunnel charts.
• Sapim CX-Ray spokes + Secure Lock nipples. Standard bladed spokes loosen on rough surfaces and force re-trues every few months. CX-Ray spokes with Sapim's locking nipples stay true through cobbles, gravel sectors, and full winters — less time at the workshop, more time riding.
• White Industries or Tactic02 hubs. White Industries gives you legendary durability and serviceability for everyday riders; Tactic02 gives you lower friction and faster pickup for racers. Pick the hub that matches how you actually ride, not how the brand wants to sell.
