Road Bike Pinarello F5 Review

Road Bike Pinarello F5 Review

Short answer (2026). The current Pinarello F5 is a complete bike: Torayca T700 UD frame, ONDA fork, Shimano 105 Di2 and MOST Ultrafast 45 carbon wheels, nine sizes, €5,499 at Approved (pricing checked 25 September 2026; the product page shows the current price). It is the F-series bike to buy if you want carbon wheels from the factory and no upgrade plan. If you would change the wheels anyway, the F3 on the same frame is the better base. Below: the current bike, who it suits, the F3 question, fit, wheels, and, clearly separated, what our 2023 review said about the F5 build it described.

The current Pinarello F5

  • Frame: Torayca T700 UD carbon, asymmetric design, E-TiCR headset with integrated cable routing

  • Groupset: Shimano 105 Di2 12-speed, disc brakes
  • Wheels: MOST Ultrafast 45 carbon
  • Tyre clearance: up to 32 mm
  • Bottom bracket: Italian threaded
  • Sizes at Approved: 43, 46.5, 50, 51.5, 53, 54.5, 56, 57.5, 59.5

Who the F5 suits

A rider who wants a current race-geometry Pinarello as a finished bike: electronic shifting, carbon wheels, one price, no parts to plan. It is not the bike for someone who already owns the wheels they want, and it is not the flagship platform; that is the DOGMA F, a configured build.

F5 vs F3: when the extra money matters

Pinarello lists the same Torayca T700 UD frame, fork and groupset on the F3 and F5. The F5 adds MOST Ultrafast 45 carbon wheels; the F3 comes with DT Swiss A1800 alloy wheels and costs €900 less at Approved. So the question is only: are the Ultrafast 45 the wheels you want? If yes, the F5 is the simpler buy. If not, buy the F3 and choose the wheels separately: we recommend the depth and hub that match your typical speed, terrain, wind exposure, handling preference and intended use. Our wheels vs groupset comparison and Wheel Recommendation Tool are how we decide. The full three-model comparison is in the F-series guide.

Fit and size

Nine sizes, the same range as the F3 and F1. Pinarello's sizes are not a linear number, so we size against your current bike's saddle-to-bar drop and reach and how you sit. Bar width and stem length can be changed; on a factory complete bike a later cockpit change is paid by the rider, so we confirm the size and cockpit before ordering. Unsure about your position? Start with the Bike Fit Fixer.

Wheels and the upgrade path

The MOST Ultrafast 45 is the factory carbon wheelset on the F5. If you later want a different wheelset, the frame takes it; that is a wheel decision, not a new bike, and we recommend the depth and hub that match your typical speed, terrain, wind exposure, handling preference and intended use. The 32 mm clearance allows 30 mm tyres and a tubeless setup.

What our 2023 review said about the F5

Historical section. Everything below is taken from our review published on 15 September 2023 and describes a previous-generation F5 built up as a custom bike at that time. It is not the current bike above, and the build cost quoted here is not the current F5 price.

Our 2023 review described an F5 built up as a custom bike: Impulsive Grey frameset in 54.5, Shimano Ultegra Di2 12-speed, 172.5 mm cranks with 50-34 and 11-34, Princeton CarbonWorks Wake 6560 Strada on Tactic hubs, 40 cm bar, 120 mm stem, Vittoria N.EXT 700x28 TLR, CeramicSpeed 3D-printed titanium OSPW, Wahoo Speedplay Nano pedals and a Berk Composites Lupina saddle. The 2023 review recorded a weight of 8.15 kg for that build and a complete-build cost of over €14,000 at the time. That 2023 build has nothing to do with today's €5,499 105 Di2 bike except the platform name.

The 2023 review noted that the bike was at home on fast flat roads and descents, where it was described as stable and eager to go faster. On the short climbs covered in the review (1 to 6 km, average 5 %, up to about 20 %) it was described as fine at steady effort and less direct than the stiffer BMC the review compared it with when pushing hard while tired. Under very hard accelerations out of corners, the review noted that a strong rider could feel the frame give. Those were one review's impressions of one build with high-end wheels; they are not measurements, and the review itself credited the wheels with much of the ride quality. One point carried over into our advice today: the F platform rewards good wheels.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Pinarello F5 weigh? We do not have a verified complete-bike weight for the current F5, so we do not quote one. Our 2023 review recorded 8.15 kg for the Ultegra Di2 / Wake 6560 custom build described there; the current 105 Di2 bike is a different specification.

What does the Pinarello F5 cost? €5,499 as a complete bike at Approved on 25 September 2026; the product page shows the current price.

Is there an F5 frameset? Not from us; we sell the F5 as a complete bike. The DOGMA F is our configured-build platform.

F5 or DOGMA F? A different question: the DOGMA F is Pinarello's flagship platform, configured with you. See F5 vs DOGMA F.

For that money you can bike dogma which is lighter and faster. Whats the sense to put ceramic elements, superwheelset to lower grade carbon frame?

Great review, but would it suit a 62 year old 6 foot 1 ,95 kilo weight, who wants a quick bike for solo weekend 35 – 80 klm cycles in the hills. I have a Pinarello nytro but want to move from the e bike to a lighter faster bike.
I tried a Roubaix expert and loved the low gearing for hills and weight of bike and comfort due to future shock , but I like the look of the Pinarello better.
