YBN SLA 1210 TiB 12-Speed Hollow Pin Chain

The YBN SLA 1210 TiB is a 12-speed hollow pin chain built for riders who want lighter, quieter shifting without paying superlight-chain prices. It runs on Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo 12-speed drivetrains and ships with the patented QRS quick-release safety link.

Why our mechanics recommend it

• NI-PTFE surface coating. A dry, gritty chain robs watts and turns every cadence change into noise. The nickel-PTFE layer keeps friction low even as the factory lube wears off, so the drivetrain still feels smooth deep into a long ride and holds lube better between washes.
• Hardened chromium-carbide pins. Pin wear is what actually stretches a chain and starts eating your cassette. Harder pins hold the pitch longer, which means fewer chain checks, later replacement and a cassette that survives more than one chain.
• Hollow pin construction. Weight at the drivetrain is weight you accelerate on every single pedal stroke. Removing material from the pins trims grams where they are felt most, without softening the chain under a hard sprint.
• SP slant-phase outer plates. Under load, shifts on a worn or basic chain hang up between sprockets. The chamfered outer plate profile guides the chain onto the next cog fast, so upshifts under power on a steep ramp land cleanly instead of clunking.
• Anti-drop inner plates. Dropping a chain on a rough descent or a rushed front shift costs you a stop and often skin. The inner plate shaping keeps the chain seated on the chainring when the bike is bouncing.
• QRS quick release safety link. Reusable, tool-free at the trailside and secure once seated. You can split the chain to clean it properly or fix a broken link mid-ride with cold hands.

Fitting advice

Measure against your old chain before shortening, and replace at 0.5% wear on a chain checker to protect the cassette. If you are unsure, our Ljubljana workshop will size and fit it with your drivetrain.
